What’s at Stake

As I talked to a dear friend the other day about the process of waiting and looking, being under the microscope and answering lots of questions from churches, she said one the of the most profound and comforting things I have heard in a while. It’s not like it’s anything new, but it was said in a fresh way. She said:

“Adina, you have to remember that God has a lot more at stake in this process than you and Jeremy do. He is the King and you are His servants!”

God is ruling the Kingdom and all of eternity, Jeremy and I are caring for 5 people and, in comparison to God and His Kingdom. . .well, there’s really no comparison!

Adina,

I actually wanted to comment on the post you wrote after this. Just wanted to agree and add Psalm 131 to the Ecclesiastes verses. It is so wonderful to be nothing and for Him to be everything–only trouble is I keep trying to be something–it is a daily dying. We love you guys and pray for the Lord’s will for you. Please pray for us as well. We sense the Lord leading us in a direction not planned on beforehand–pray we are sensitive to His daily leading and willing to trust and obey no matter how difficult things are.

1 O Lord, my heart is not lifted up;
my eyes are not raised too high;
I do not occupy myself with things
too great and too marvelous for me.
2 But I have calmed and quieted my soul,
like a weaned child with its mother;
like a weaned child is my soul within me.

3 O Israel, hope in the Lord
from this time forth and forevermore.

Very well put! Still praying that God will open the doors that need to open and close the ones that need to close! He does have a perfect place for you!
God bless
