Thank you Katelyn for reminding me that you all don’t get to see our children day in and day out! Here’s a few for you (and all the other relatives I’ve neglected with photos!)

Just in case you all think my children are dressed and ready for the day before they do school. . .here’s us all doing school in our pajamas. You can all be glad Momma wasn’t in the picture!

We’ll see how this goes. . .anyone out there used the “Pro” version of it?  It costs about $25 a year but it stores unlimited and does all sorts of fun stuff.  I need to get a streamlined system for storing and printing photos.  My problem is that I’m good at storing them, but never seem to get them printed.

Lots of fun photos from the holidays in this one, so check it out and enjoy!!

What We’ve Been Doing

One of my last blog posts contained a reading list. . .sigh.  I’m accomplishing that, but not much else (including good regular blogging!!)  We are busy with seminary life, involved in our church, Kenwood Baptist Church and loving watching our children grow.  So you don’t miss out on the children growing up, I thought I’d post a few pics:

Here are the children snuggling on the couch watching a movie.  No, this was not posed, they actually watch movies like this sometimes!

Picking apples with friends

And of course, getting into trouble is a common occurrence too!

And we actually got a family photo taken recently!!

This is us on the steps of the library Jeremy’s second “office”!

Aaaah, the Beach!

There’s nowhere I (Adina) feel more at home probably than the beach.  So, this past week we stocked up on fresh breaths of salty beach air when we visited my sister Roseann and Josh and my other sister Risa and brother Jonathan in Virginia Beach.  We also got to catch up on playing time with the cousins, Lumina and Jonah.  Roseann and Josh were great hosts and we can’t wait til the next time we get to spend time together again.

But I know the real reason some of you check the blog. . .pictures!

My baby brother Jonathan and my baby sister Risa:  I LOVE their expressions in this photo.  Jonathan, I have to say that you have got to be pretty photogenic to have a picture taken this close up and still look this good.  Maybe it’s the hair.  I also love Risa’s smile, behind him, like she is planning something evil. . .:-)

Happy New Year!! Book Recommendations

What a great year of blessing the Lord gave us in 2009!  We got to spend it as a family (daddy home from Iraq) and our children have matured and there seems to be a light at the end of the toddler tunnel.  God brought us to Louisville, Jeremy started seminary, and we believe we may be hearing a call from the Lord to do International missionwork, either here in the US or overseas.  God has blessed us with many friends and godly influences who are passionately seeking to serve the Lord.

We continue to have many opportunities to share Jesus with people from other cultures and countries who speak very little English here in Louisville.  Just in the past few days, Jeremy spent time in several homes, just visiting sometimes, and other times helping out in practical ways such as in helping with job applications and resumes.  He continues to teach a translated Bible study at our church through the book of John.

We had a group of international friends over for a Guam fiesta (funny how they scarfed up that fare so much quicker than the normal American fare we usually serve them!!) and I (Adina) got to attend an all-women New Year’s Eve party where another seminary student friend of mine and I met and got to spend time with ladies from all parts of Iraq, Pakistan, and Nepal.  We are constantly in awe of how God is bridging barriers and giving us blatant opportunities to physically and verbally share the Good News of the cross with our friends.  We are humbled and more burdened for those who have never heard the Gospel as time goes by.

We update pictures of times with our international friends on this Facebook photo album, you can check back to it periodically: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=170713&id=660159362&l=f2e7560f75

One tool that has changed our perspective this year has been reading (as a couple) “Operation World” which is a devotional-style encyclopedia of countries of the world and a synopsis of the progress of the gospel in each.  It has really stunned us how spiritually impoverished the majority of the world is.

If I had to recommend only two books this year, it would be “Operation World” and “Humility” by Andrew Murray, a slim easy read that changed my perspective this year.

Praying God’s greatest blessings overwhelm your family and hearts this new year, for HIS glory alone!
