We are treading water right now. . . that’s about it! We are trying to make this an efficient move, cleaning out, organizing and getting all we have to get done in the 24 days we have left in Nebraska. Jeremy has been very blessed with a pretty free work schedule, so we are SOOO thankful! I feel that we will look back on this move as a VERY GOOD one in the organization department. . . something I CANNOT say about any previous move!
Jeremy’s graduation party was a whole lot of fun, especially with live entertainment from his friend Chris Moro from California who did a magic/illusion show for us! Chris came as Jeremy’s surprise graduation gift on Thursday – Jeremy was watching a show and Chris walked into our living room. Jeremy jumped so quick off that couch – he had no idea and was TOTALLY shocked!! We have it all on video! We will post more later on Chris’ visit – we had a wonderful time and were sad to see him leave after the weekend.

Merry is sitting up on her own and crawling everywhere now. She even pulled herself up to stand in her crib while Chris was here – he got to be “a part of history” as he put it, since he was in the children’s room when she stood up by herself!
I will try to stay up on the blog, but if I don’t you can always reach us by email at adina77@hotmail.com and by phone at 402-292-2868 until the 22 of September then by cell phone at 402-218-7946 after that.
Here is a picture Jeremy took of me with three of the most beautiful women I know (1 Peter 3:4-5).

How did I come to be so blessed? God has been so gracious to me. I can honestly say that I don’t expect this ever again in my life – I have learned and enjoyed so much in the barely-two-year span of time I have known these ladies. All three have some of the most giving and sacrificial hearts I have ever known. That is proven in what they pour themselves into their families. All three are saavy, resourceful and constantly finding new ways to love their families better. I have watched them in action and have been inspired.
I love them all so much and have no idea what in Charleston that could be even close to as good as what their friendships have been. I thought I would write this blog now when I can actually keep myself semi-composed. I may be a disaster in a few weeks. I’m being a little dramatic, I’ll admit . . . deep down inside I know that God is giving me exactly what I, and my family needs. However, I WILL miss our friends here greatly.

We are back home now and enjoying our old routine. Home is good!
Over the course of the summer and by a series of events, Peaches and Cisco have moved to new homes. We are sad to see them leave our family as they have been our “babies” for nine years. However, they are being totally spoiled in their new homes. Both sleep in bed with their new “mommies” and go out and about with them (Cisco rides in a dog purse).
We have been blessed with many wonderful memories and times of companionship with our dogs and are thankful that God provided some sweet new owners who will love them well!
Here’s a photo of our last walk with them

This blog is for all my mommy friends. . . there could be much worse things, right?!
A few days ago while we were at Kelly’s in NC I hear this choking sound coming from the bathroom where Elijah had just gone to wash his hands – I rush in and find him holding the Purell bottle and trying to wipe his tongue off with his hand – he had obviously tried it to see what flavor it was. After a conversation about eating yucky stuff that isn’t food, we have breakfast.
The next morning Elijah makes another attempt at ingesting soap. . . this time after breakfast – Kelly and I catch him repeatedly drinking the soapy (Palmolive) water from a bucket that was being used to clean some outdoor play equipment (he was “helping” of course). I say to Kelly, “Oh well, it’s just soap, I’m sure he’ll be fine.”
Fast forward to dinner time. Elijah reaches across the table (a beautiful shrimp and veggie alfredo just served) and says “hold you mommy” which means “hold me,” so I reach out, take him in my lap and proceed to eat. . . but before I can get a bite in, he loses the contents of his stomach out all over me and the table, floor and other items around us. Some (the younger ones) watch in amazement . . . how could so much come out of so little a body? Others proceed to the bathroom gagging; it was gruesome. As we attempt a cleanup it dawns on me that what I recognized in what landed on my lap was all the way from breakfast . . . soon after which he had consumed the palmolive water. Poor guy. He had only one more bout of sickness the next evening, and is back to his old self. Needless to say, I think he’s given up his soap-tasting hobby – at least for a little while!
Here’s a sweet pic of the little guy watching his littlest cousin, Lumina in her bassinette

Jeremy graduated yesterday afternoon and we drove out of Maryland right away to Pittsburgh to spend the night with Jeremy’s parents. This morning we headed out around 7:40 AM and got to LaSalle IL. . . almost 500 miles in one day! We were very pleased, no traffic even past Chicago and the children were terrific. We ended the day around five at a hotel with free wifi (hence this blog!) a pool, hot tub and full breakfast. . .they even gave us two portcribs so we didn’t have to unload ours from the car!
Since I wasn’t able to before, I wanted to post a few more pictures of my trip to NC:
This one is of my sister Roseann and I with our beautiful daughters Merry and Lumina (only days old!)

Jeremy writes,
The picture says it all. I got a Nintendo Wii for my birthday, with a smile to match the kid in the candy store. In nearly 20 years of video game experience I have never been sore from playing video games til now. If you don’t know already the Nintendo Wii gameplay is involved – to play baseball or golf you swing the controller as you would the bat or club, to box you punch with both hands. Why I’m explaining this is beyond me – most of you already know. After all we do inhabit the same planet. Perhaps I write this explanation for our New Zealand audience.
I’ve also enjoyed creating characters called Mii’s that look exactly like members of my family. I’ve also been able to download old Nintendo games from the internet like Contra 3 and Super Mario World. Yeah!

We are back on the road again tomorrow! Jeremy graduates in the early afternoon and we will head home to Nebraska! We are so excited to end this adventure – it has been good, but we are so so ready to be HOME!
We can be reached by email while we are on the road or by cell phone at 402-218-7946.
I’m so sorry I’ve not been able to talk with many of you. . . I will catch up soon!

What amazing gifts sisters (and brothers of course, but that’s another blog!) are! I leave tomorrow from my sister (in-law) Kelly’s house. Roseann and Lumina came to visit for two days and we have had a blast. Kelly and Roseann are two of the most understanding giving women I know. They have dealt with bad days of tantrums, teething, projectile vomiting (todays greatest event!) and constant noise. We have had so much fun, though, and I know we will remember this week together forever. . . even if only to remember never to let our children drink Palmolive. More on that later.

The children and I are now enjoying some time with cousins Joshua and Brianna and Aunt “Keeeelly” as Elijah calls her. On the way here we stopped to see Roseann and Josh’s beautiful baby girl Lumina Joy.
We are having a blast and had a few firsts including:
Mommy’s first ride in a Barbie Power Wheels car
Mommy’s first attempt at commiting arson. . . I accidentally started a grease fire on the stove when I was helping Kelly make the fries for Primanti sandwiches
Elijah’s first drink of hand sanitizer
